It’s logic that no one in their right mind would make a conscious decision for being extra heavy, would you?. There are no real benefits for being fat. Being heavy carries so many impractical implications with it that it just can’t be all that much fun.

Chubbiness also restricts general movement of the body. Being flabby makes you feel lethargic, even lazy, but it can certainly encourage you to eat even more of the wrong foods that have got you there in the first place. Comparatively, many obese people do not believe they look as good as they could do and some even develop a dislike or maybe a hate for their own body. Tubbiness certainly doesn’t make you feel as good as you could feel, and some say it even dampens your sex life. But more importantly it increases your risk of ill health – and of that there’s no doubt. It is even believed to reduce your life span. There is an abundance of medical evidence to prove this is so, and the effects of obesity will now be so bad that some believe that a great many of our children of today can be the first generation never to outlive their parents. The truth is hard but simple – being flabby and obese encumbers our lives in so many ways…So why can we allow this to happen, why can we do that to ourselves?

So we now sit in the course of an corpulence epidemic and in reality, no one really wants to be or has chosen to get heavy or obese. And that is despite over 200 million websites of eating habits plans, diet regime pills and diet regime potions. And then there’s the authority suggestion, the medical advice, the recommendation of nutritionists and untold food intake companies – all unusually wanting to take your custom. So what isn’t working? We only have to take in the moment and pause…look around us to see that something is obviously very very wrong. And do the government want it for being so? I don’t believe so, as heaviness costs our nation billions of dollars a year. It is perhaps more the case that they are not really sure of how to tackle this self inflicted epidemic, which is second only to smoking in the stakes of measurable loss of life.

So why? Why do we intentionally inflict this self induced ‘illness’ upon ourselves? Incredibly, despite the fact we know which foods we must always eat, we know which foods are good for us and we know which are the ‘badies’. But despite all this, we still eat too much and too much of the wrong stuff. We still self inflict the misery of obesity upon ourselves.

If a close friend appeared for being alarmed and severe in telling you that the food you were almost to eat, contained the deadly poison arsenic in it, your natural reaction that i see to stop ‘dead in your tracks’ or at the least hesitate to confirm. Are they kidding? Do they mean it? And that could be our dilemma in a nut shell. We don’t experience an immediate or real threat to our lives when we are eating what is deemed to get food that is certainly ‘bad’ for us. Some processed foods, most fast foods and all junk foods. we are accustomed to eating it and our ‘egos’ accepts it and therefore there is no threat to our instinctive survival mechanisms. Our primeval instinct to survive does not ‘see’ eating as a threat to life itself. we are natural eating ‘machines’. And so if our ‘egos’ accepts it – we do.

Is there an option to do nothing as an individual? Can we allow to wait for the miracle ‘diet regime drug’ to stem our appetite? Only you can decide. But would you want to be on ‘diet drugs’ for the rest of your life – day in day out drug dependent just for the sake of…eating? Experts say most would not and it almost sounds ludicrous to even consider the option. There is another method…and that could be to go back to basics.

We have existed on this planet for well over 2,000,000 years and for 99.5 percent of the time we survived well as the hunter and gatherer, and proudly became head of the food chain. No, I’m not suggesting in any shape or form that we must go back to living a ‘cave man’ life style, (even though it would probably be healthier!), but I am suggesting we must learn from our genetic inheritance. It is suggested that 99% of our nutritional genes have remained unchanged over that humongous period of time, and yet our diet in the last 50 years has changed beyond all recognition. Totally.

Who are we, apart from just mere mortals to ever think we are able to dictate to ‘Mother Nature’ in providing today’s diet regime, when man’s body has changed and mutated over million years of evolution to accept what is now thought being a much narrower range of ‘acceptable foods’. Our body is doing and saying what it has always done over hundreds and thousands of generations before us, and yet we elect not to listen. We choose to ignore the signs and believe “I’ll be alright”. Our ancestors left us a heritage of which we must be proud – but sadly we are failing to leave anything like as comparable.

For now, obesity still remains a matter of choice…but choice means a decision.

No wonder, since all the information about superfoods is so easily obtainable today. If it’s not someone asking how to successfully lose weight it’s some health company capitalizing on those who are overweight. Most people who are busy with weight loss since many years are desperately looking for the next diet that promises to shed those extra kilo’s.

I do not recommend any commercial weight loss program except it is based on natural healthy foods! I believe they are mostly “commercial” in nature and not really suited for weight loss. True weight loss programs should be initiated in conjunction with your Doctor. I do however, believe the regularly eaten food today is lacking many important nutrients and essential Antioxidants that are needed to have a healthy body. Often food supplements are required to replace these deficiencies.

Unwanted weight gain can often be attributed to over indulgence of a particular food in an attempt to replace an essential Vitamin the body is missing. When our body receives sufficient supply of nutrients, cravings will be reduced and we feel fuller and stisfied with lesser food.

Our daily food is lacking in many nutrients and of those nutrients that are still present, many are obtained through application of synthetic fertilizers and are being subject to pesticides and selective herbicides. The old saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” should now be going: “Two apples a day keeps the doctor away.” because we would have to eat twice as much to get the same level of nutrients.

The growing demand on food has lead to crops produced on a large scale these days, and are produced with more synthetic stimulants and pharmaceutics than it is good for us.

I you’re busy with weight control, your diets should be organic and nutrient rich with a range of all essential vitamins and minerals and antioxidants to assist suppressing cravings in between meals.

Organically grown fresh fruit and vegetables are the perfect option for a synthetic supply of vitamins and minerals in our diets. And only if a sufficient supply of these foods is not available, organic foods supplements are an option.

The goal for successive weight loss must be to maintain a sufficient supply of vitamins and minerals to prevent cravings that force and over consumption of food leading to more unwanted kilos.

Many processed foods contain large amounts of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives, which may block the supply, or uptake of vitamins and minerals into the body. Junk foods are designed with 3 things in mind. To get your money, to fill a taste craving, or to fill a hunger craving. They are not designed to provide necessary nutrients to your body.

The more real food we eat the more likely we will attain food satisfaction through sufficient nutrient consumption.

Adding a Vitamin or Superfood such as Acai berries into the daily diet will also assist with weight loss because you may need to consume less to receive your bodies necessary nutrient requirements. Acai is highly nutritious, extremely high on antioxidants, is very filing and suppresses food cravings for a long time making it an ideal superfood for weight loss

Nevertheless, you should always consult with your Doctor before you make any sudden changes in your diet or start taking food supplements over a longer period of time.

Cleansing has always had a place among humans, throughout all ages and cultures. For thousands of years, body purification has been a part of our rituals for health and well-being. Recently diet products and supplements have turned into diet "systems". Diet products used to just burn fat or boost your metabolism so you burned more calories. They were fat burners. If you are looking for an epic super food that contains tons of protein, is extremely low fat, vegetarian and very inexpensive, then quinoa is your answer! Quinoa is a grain produced in South America but recently introduced in the western cultures diet. It is similar to rice or couscous yet with a much higher level of protein, almost 8-12%. Its very easy to cook and makes a fantastic side dish, breakfast, or even main meal. You can create an unlimited number of meals using quinoa. One of the best things about quinoa is that is really tastes good and is so good for you as well and you can even lose weight.

The most important part about cooking quinoa is to remember to soak it thoroughly first. Soaking the quinoa beforehand helps to loosens up and detaches the outer coating of saponin, which can give a bitter taste if not removed. It is also harder to digest if not soaked properly. Soaking it also ensure it cooks evening making the perfect light and fluffy dish.

One of my favorite ways to prepare quinoa is for breakfast. I cook a large batch of quinoa ahead of time and leave in the fridge until I need it. Breakfast time, I just take out a scoop of the fluffy grain, heat it up a bit and add some fresh raspberries and blueberries, a dash of brown sugar and some milk and it makes a really hearty breakfast that gives me a ton of energy without making me feel like I am stuffed. Quinoa alone has an earthy nutty flavor and works well with many additional fruits and vegetable.

Another way I like cooking quinoa is as a cold summertime salad with lots of vegetables such as carrots, cucumbers, jalepeno, red onion, garlic, and avocado, all topped off with lemon juice, olive oil, olives, and cilantro. This quinoa recipe makes the most amazingly spicy dish that everyone loves. It's a perfect meal for weight loss, its fantastic for athletes, and it's a great way for vegetarians to get some healthy protein that is needed for their diet. I cannot recommend enough that you should give it a try and find your flavor and way to serve it up for your friends and family. It's such an amazing superfood that I think you will soon see it serves as a stable in the western world, and rightfully so.
