Tasty Raw Vegan Foods And Superfoods

What eating superfoods can do for you

Grapes and Raisins are high on antioxidants

Superfoods are not only foods to feed your body but they also fuel your brain. Eating superfoods is a great way to give your brain and body a natural boost. If you want to get the most from eating superfoods it is although important to eat and drink small amounts of food and shakes or juices at relatively short intervals throughout the whole day. This will keep you rbody and mind more energized. Eating more often will help to avoid drastic ebbs and flows of your blood sugar level. You don't have to quit cold turkey eating what you are used to eat right now; just try to move in some healthy superfoods and phase out some of the things  your mother already had told you to avoid when you were a child, like high sugary drinks, gummy bears and other unhealthy foods. Drinking water is also most  essential to maintain a good health. You can alway spice it up by drinking seltzer water or adding lemon, lime or orange juice. If your body has enough water, your skin will wrinkle less and you will feel fresher and more active. If your body has the right nutrition at all times, your mind will function better.

Eating fresh fruits and best all including the skins and/or seeds of the fruits is an easy way to bulk up on vitamins and water. Some foods like apricots, almonds, raisins, carrots apples, pears, plums, strawberries, kiwi's, can easily be carried around as snack in between. Not only do they taste good, but fruits have an average of only 60 calories but they are very high in nutrients and antioxidants, so you get a lot of nutrition value for the cost of very little calories.

Let's have a quick look at these fruits and why they are so good for you:

Peaches have lots of fiber, Vitamin A, potassium, niacin, and beta carotene to name just a few of their benefits. Niacin and potassium are particularly helpful providing your cells with the energy they need to grow and maintaining proper electrical stability of your cells. In fact, having low levels of potassium can cause heart attacks and other cardio-pulmonary problems. Dried peaches are extremely high on antioxidants 4222 ORAC units/100gram.

Carrots: have lots of fiber, Vitamine A, Vitamin C, folate, vitamin b6, iron, copper and beta carotene. Beta carotene is known to prevent some cancers and heart disease. Vitamin A helps maintain healthy skin and prevents respiratory problems. Folate is critical to help create new red blood cells. Eating lots of fresh organic carrots, or even better, drinking lots of  fresh carrot juice during the day betters the eyesight.

Raisins / Grapes: Raisins and grapes are packed with minerals like iron, copper, potassium, and phosphorus. Raisins also contain high amounts of antioxidants, depending on the type of raisins, between 3000 and 4188 ORAC units/100gram.

Apricots and Almonds: These little snacks are the Brangelina of the fruit and nut world. Not only are they great by themselves, (having lots of vitamin A, iron protein and dietary fiber) but they are especially powerful when eaten together. Apricots have lots of potassium, which is also helps regulate your body's fluid balance. The vitamin A in apricots contributes to healthy vision, bone growth, and helps fight infection.

So remember, to always be at your peak drink plenty of water and Green tea, avoid the sugary snacks and drinks, and eat small meals containing superfoods throughout the day!

Herbs Are Great To Eliminate Nutrient Deficiencies!

Nettle Urtica Dioica - Another great green foodI'm asked every single day about minerals, nutrition and vitamins and how to optimize daily needs. Most want to find an inexpensive way to remedy deficiencies and fill in the gaps between their refined sugar, energy drinks containing caffein and lifeless Healthy Choice frozen meals. How can we address and resolve this question? I used to work one day a week at an integrative pharmacy and my genuine heartfelt response to the vitamin/mineral question was to refer them to herbs and medicinal teas.

It's unlikely the corporate pill-pushers wanted me around because of my minimal contribution to rising synthetic supplement sales! When people have a real need, I try to convey what was already present prior to the convenience of vitamin shops, supplements, and pills. Beautiful Nature – herbs, plants, roots, barks, greens – we have been given all that we need to keep our body emotionally, psychologically, and physically balanced and resilient. However, some have been steered so far away from a natural diet by a culture constantly whispering in our ear that 'food' comes in a box, can, or package, all of which is in an altered state. Supplementing has become a perceived magic bullet to remedy the detrimental effects of processed and refined foods the people I talked with won't live without (cooked addiction). I would much rather be unconventional and eat raw and living foods, build resilience with adaptogenic herbs, and reach superior health with

Superfoods. In my conversations with these desperate, sick, and dis-eased individuals (this is not a judgment, it's the reality of what I've witnessed), I think my approach comes across quite clear through the passion in which I talk, but most people really just want the short answer, quick fix, and to be on their way to Starbucks. I may be a poor synthetic supplement salesperson because I honestly want for others to grasp the enormous potential of pure food and Superfood boosted living. I've been told countless times during my Superfood Education sessions (whether at HealthForce demos or in my Healing Wellness Nutritional Programs), that I can sell absolutely anything – if I wholeheartedly believe in it. To me, that's not selling – that's sharing and healing and something that all health care practitioners should be doing. In Mountain Rose Herbs' January newsletter, there was a phenomenal article written titled 'Just Say No to Synthetic Vitamins and Processed Foods!' and I really recommend you read it. I love that this information is available to us! It's just a matter of making ourselves aware, keeping informed of the truth, and following the ancient herbal wisdom.

My favorite herbal remedy is a delicious thirst-quenching blend I call Stunning Skin Medicinal Tea. This inexpensive blend includes nettles, alfalfa, horsetail, burdock root, noni, oat straw, and red clover blossoms. This is also the blend that I use to infuse the organic olive oil I use in my Body Silks. As you'll read in the article link above, these herbs offer a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals – all in a highly bio-available form our body recognizes and therefore absorbs. You'll replenish your reserves of vitamin A, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (panothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B12 (cyanocobalamin), and vitamin C, D, E, and K. Minerals, such as calcium, chromium, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, potassium, selenium, sulfur, and zinc, are abundant as well. Who would have thought? Cultivate health by adding herbs:

  • as an infusion steeped overnight (add hot water to small handful of herbs and steep 6-12 hours for maximum potency) – it doesn't taste like medicine, but it is medicinal
  • as your smoothie's liquid base – immensely healing
  • as an herbal hair rinse in the shower
  • in the bath (small muslin bag of herbs draped under spout) – soak and absorb the benefits through your skin
  • in homemade skin care formulas in place of flower water (as the liquid part of a clay masque)

I typically make the tea every few days, store it in fridge, and enjoy it in these ways throughout my week. Why Superfoods?

Why are Superfoods so Important for our Health?

George The Owner of Superfoods InofsSuperfoods are known to us for almost a thousand years and if you look at Asia, for more than three thousand years! Although many scientists in the western world are well aware of the existence and the effect that superfoods have on the human body, the interest of the pharmaceutical industry remains very low, for the simple reason, that there is no money to be made with superfoods! Nevertheless, the same pharmaceutical industry is employing most of the scientists and therefor blocking evolution itself.  I strongly believe superfoods to be the most important discovery of mankind, and here is why:

On April 29th 2010 I was diagnosed with skin cancer; Squamous cell carcinoma to be precise. That was devastating news. At first, I went in circles and didn't know what to do; for sure I wasn't going to give up and die just like that! And as so often in the most miserable moments of our lives,  a friend was there to help. She recommended the movie "Food Matters" to me. After watching the movie about five times, a light started to shine on the dark horizon and I started to implement everything I had learned about superfoods in this move  into my own live. But I had licked blood and I was sure that wasn't all I could do. I started to search on Google and I learned everything there was to know about skin cancer and about superfood.

The amount of information I found was just overwhelming and I quickly wished there was a place you could get all this Information about Superfoods on one single place. There are many good websites out there about nutrition and super food and antioxidants and what the do. So I had the idea to create a website with articles from all these valuable websites, with links to the appropriate site, so everybody who would come to my site would find all the infos easily and could start using available superfoods right away.

After my initial diagnose of skin cancer I had started to take food supplements, such as Vitamin C every day, and most of all "Peking Grass" that considerably pushed the immune system, and a multivitamin  pill per day. I eat mostly raw food, salads, vegetables and fruits and I work out 6 days a week for an hour. At the end of May 2010 I had a second surgery on my neck. I don't want to tell you about my feelings at this time, when I had to wait 10 days for the result. On top of it all, this all happened in Bangkok to the time when the city was under lock-down and looked more like Beirut than the the Thai metropolis. In short, a depressive time. And therefore, when the result finally came back negative, the relief was unimaginable!

Since then I keep up with my new lifestyle. I keep my diet, and I started to love it and I really don't miss any other food at all. There are so many healthy foods out there, it simply makes no sense to me to eat anything else. Superfoods QR CodeI keep up with my workout and for the first time in 50 years I can see my abs when I look in the mirror! My weight loss in 5 month was 10 kg on fat and I gained about 7 kg on pure muscle! So I actually can only pride myself of  loosing 3 kg weight in total but if I look in the mirror I can see that the masses have moved from down on my belly and my waist, upwards to my chest and my shoulders! That looks much better I can tell you! As of today I'm still cancer free and I intend to keep it that way. The only regret I have is that I didn't know all that what I know today about superfoods, years ago. I would have saved myself a great deal of trouble, not to speak of the money. Cancer is an expensive thing to have if you don't have an insurance. So please do yourself a huge favor and read through as many articles as you can here. Learn everything there is to know about superfoods and MAKE USE OF IT! I've included the QR code of this superfoods website, so you can bookmark it and find back easily.

Superfoods – Improve Brain Functioning and Mood

David Wolfe on How to Get Started on Superfoods Part 2

Lenette Nakauchi’s – Interview with David Wolfe.

Lenette: I have a question about coffee. Coffee is so popular and so important for so many people to keep them on and alert. What superfoods, and I know cacao is always an option, but what other superfoods can give people the same effect or same reward as coffee?

David Wolfe World Famous NutritionistDavid: Marine phytoplankton is very interesting in that regard because it provides energy without stimulation. It’s not a stimulant. The actual methodology or mechanism of how that works I learned from a very interesting scientist by the name of Dr. George Merkle who I had the pleasure of meeting about eight or nine years ago. He actually invited me over to his house and I sat with him for a number of hours one day and described to me what his scientific discoveries were. His scientific discoveries were so massive that he was basically targeted by the ‘World Medical Mafia’ or whatever you want to call it. They had to get rid of him because what he was bringing to the table was so powerful that it kind of deletes the whole idea of pharmaceuticals. In fact, in a lot of ways, it deletes the whole idea of food. Here’s what he discovered: he discovered that the ancient organisms of the planet, plankton, those organisms produce ATP, or nucleotides. ATP, ADP, all these different types of nucleotides. Now this is actually the energy currency of our cell. Our cell doesn’t run on protein, carbohydrates and fat or burn forms of those things. It actually runs on ATP. So all the food we eat is in the wrong currency. It has to be converted over to ATP, ADP, GTP, GDP, all the nucleotides. Then the nucleotides are packets of energy that our body can use. If we had a food that we could go to that would just be a concentrate of nucleotides, then it would actually completely nourish us, totally energize us, make us alert with a high level of concentration with no stimulation. And that’s exactly what marine phytoplankton is and that’s exactly where Dr. Merkle found that all of those nucleotides could more naturally be concentrated in the environment and could be concentrated even more. You get that, because if you do a dropperful or two droppers full of marine phytoplankton, there’s a tremendous stimulation that’s there, but there’s no crash afterwards because it’s not a stimulant. It’s actually just pure nucleotides.

Lenette: What superfoods can enhance our brain functioning in this book?

David: Goji berries enhance our brain functioning. Cacao, in the right people. Maca. Maca is a very powerful brain food also. It’s actually quite oily. It’s an oily vegetable, a very interesting vegetable in its ability to interface with our neurological functioning. It just goes right into the brain and right into our nervous system. Another one that is right in there is blue-green algae because of the Omega-3, and it has long-chain Omega-3. One of the things about blue-green algae and marine phytoplankton is that they actually contain the same oil, namely DHA, that’s in fish oil. That’s an Omega-3 fatty acid that’s different from what’s in hemp seed or flax seed or chia seed. That’s more of what we need actually. We kind of call them ‘hyperoils’. They’re Omega-3 fatty acids, but they’re longer chain than what’s found in hemp seed, flax seed and chia seed. And that’s appropriate for our brain and eyes.

Lenette: I just feel like, me personally, I’m always looking for more memory, quicker brain functioning, clearer focus and I would assume that a lot of people are looking for that too, if they’re already pretty healthy and energetic.

David: I think you’re right. The number one complaint out there, like in America, is low energy. The number two complaint is actually foggy thinking. Foggy brain, lack of memory. We know that all that is related to the holistic picture of what we’re about. For example there’s a diet and nutrition and detoxification relationship that the more toxic we are, the more cloudy our thinking, the more that we have Candida and critters growing inside of us, foggier thinking. As we clean that stuff out and as we step out of that, then we can kind of dial it in a little bit tighter with superfoods, things like Camu Camu berry, Reishi mushroom, blue-green algae, marine phytoplankton, Maca, Goji berry. If we just are on that high-end fuel and have gotten all the excess out of our body, we’ve detoxified, we’ve gotten the critters out of our body, etc. then we can start to tweak and perturb our brain and memory capacity in a way that…I think we haven’t been there yet. As a population we don’t understand how incredible our brains really are when they’re functioning properly and they’re cleaned out.

Lenette: I have a question about gold to ask you. Gold has been widely used and has been highly valued by civilizations for thousands of years. Even today as the economy struggles, the value of gold steadily rises. What makes gold so unique and special and what do you see in the future for gold?

David: I approach gold from a more alchemical perspective. I grew up mostly with a scientific background with the periodic table of elements and learning that gold is one of many metals on the Earth, I think a little bit devaluing what gold really is. The reason that gold is so interesting, and has been since the beginning of time is because it doesn’t oxidize. When you have gold in a river or sitting on the side of a creek or in your house, it doesn’t oxidize. It never changes color. It’s always pure. It has been understood by the alchemists as being the most pure download of sun or solar energy of any substance that exists in our biosphere. The sun and gold are related to each other. For example, let’s say you’re trying to melt gold and then form it into a tooth, but on that day there’s a solar eclipse. If there’s anything weird going on with the sun, then gold is affected by it. This understanding, more the alchemical understanding of what gold is, is what I got into later, because I realized that the conventional understanding of what gold is doesn’t really add up. It doesn’t explain why there is a problem with crystallizing gold when there is a solar event going on. How could they be related? But they are. And here’s where we’ve come to our understanding of what gold is. Gold is on the same octave, it’s like middle ‘C’ on a keyboard of a piano, and if you go to the next ‘C’ on the right, there you have the sun. If you go to the next ‘C’ on the right, you have the heart. If you go to the next ‘C’ on the right, then you have serotonin. You go to the next ‘C’ on the right and there you have the king on the chessboard. These are all octaves of each other. They’re like metaphors of each other, but they are all related. For example, if there are sunspots going on on the sun, the amount of heart attacks that occur can double on that given day or week. Sunspots on the sun affect deeply what’s going on inside our hearts. So our heart and the sun are connected. Serotonin and the sun and gold are all connected to each other. They’re all in that same octave. Does that make sense?

Lenette: Yes. It’s fascinating.

David: When you take gold, like colloidal gold, you are allowing your body to have access to a frequency that helps you replicate serotonin and what that actually does…like colloidal silver, for example, kills all “parasites”; fungus, yeast, mold, viruses, Candida. Colloidal silver kills all of that. But colloidal gold kind of kills all metaphysical parasites. Another way of saying that is, it increases your stress defense shield.

Lenette: Yeah, I’ve really found that. I’ve been taking that for the past 6 months or so. I feel much happier.

David: Do you find that you’re happier really? Has that been an effect that you’ve noticed? Because that should be an effect.

Lenette: I definitely do. I love my life. I try to do other things, too, to improve my mood; the way I talk or doing a little 10-minute visualization or meditation. There are a lot of other things that I also incorporate. I’m never really sure if it’s the colloidal gold or the combination of everything together. It’s probably that.

David: I’m sure it is. When you get to the point of being into superfoods at the level you’re in, raw foods, and just kind of on the high end, if you take it realistically, you’re in a completely different reality from where everybody else is at. Realistically.

Lenette: It’s just nice to know that I’m doing everything possible. I’m treating myself like a queen drinking gold in the morning.

David Isn’t that great? Ultimately I believe that people who are attracted to these things, to superfoods, to raw foods, to colloidal gold and things of that nature are people who have a high self-esteem about themselves, because they come to a place where they realize, “I’m worth it and I’m now going to give my body the best. I’ve done the other thing and it doesn’t work. Now I’m gonna do it this way.” People are motivated; they’re psyched about it. It’s amazing.

Lenette: I love the affirmation, “I eat the best foods on the planet.” I think I heard that from you. “I eat the best food ever. I drink the best drinks ever,” and I think that’s kind of the culture of the Elements for Life crowd, at least, and a lot of people out there that eat raw foods and superfoods, it’s a great attitude they have.

David: Totally. Thomas Jefferson said this: “One who has a bad attitude cannot be helped no matter what and the brakes will always go against them. And one who has a positive attitude will be carried by the wind.” And it’s like “Whoa, okay.” Just attitude. It all really comes down to attitude, because attitude is the eternal spring from which all abundance arises. So if somebody has a poor attitude, there is no way they can create abundance [robed elements] into their life, because it’s like they’re constantly pouring sewage water into their reality. If somebody has a positive mental attitude and is actually in a state of abundance and is taking on their life’s challenges with a positive attitude, then they are constantly pouring spring water onto their life’s reality. It is really a radical difference. It eventually is what I believe the future of humanity is going to come down to. What is our attitude about this, that and the other thing? It’s really all about that.

Superfoods – Why Eat Them?

Why You Should Start Using Superfoods Today

If you are confused about what superfoods are, here’s what sorted it out for me. Superfoods really began to take on an identity when David Wolfe began delving into raw food prior to the 21st Century. I found him on the Internet when he and two other partners started telling everyone about raw food and how great it was.

As time progressed, I kept seeing David introducing foods that were from all over the world. Some he called “superfoods” which was the first time I began hearing that word. Over the last three years, I have seen more and more reference to “superfoods” – both pros and cons. Plus including a lot of our traditional foods in this category. I fell into this same hole, logically associating superfoods with the dictionary definitions of both “super” and “food.” When I realized this wasn’t making sense, I went looking to see what David Wolfe had to say.

There’s a definition of sorts in David Wolfe’s book called “Superfoods” and as I read it, all the confusion about this subject fell away.

“Superfoods comprise a specific set of edible, incredibly nutritious plants that are not entirely classifiable as foods nor are they entirely classifiable as medicines (such as herbs).” Reference “Superfoods” by David Wolfe

To fully grasp this, I highly recommend you get the book so as to get the full idea of what David is saying here.

So, Why Eat Superfoods?

When you look at superfoods as a whole new class of edible items (different from traditional foods and herbs), what are they good for?

I have found a way to replace most of the multitude of vitamin and mineral tablets I began adding to every meal 40 years ago. When I began integrating superfoods into my diet, I found that I no longer needed to take so many vitamin pills and other supplements in pill or tablet form. What a relief!

Hemp Seed is one such superfood. I began taking hemp seed a few years ago as I was looking for a natural source of Vitamin E. The hemp seed is rich in Vitamin E and Omega Fatty Acids, and so much more. This item is listed as a superfood in David’s book.

Aloe Vera is another superfood I take. I was looking for something to normalize my digestive system. Since I am over 60, my various organs need more support. I really was unable to make any significant difference with traditional foods or supplements.

When I found I could buy the whole leaf of the aloe, and have it shipped to me, I tried it. The aloe is known to help nourish the liver and pancreas as well as other vital organs. I have found it to be an all-around whole-body food.

More Superfood Examples

  • Marine Phytoplankton – This first appeared on the market through a network marketing company and I enjoyed it’s benefits early on. It has a wealth of minerals from the sea, among many vital other nutrients.
  • Coconut – I was doing research on various types of food in the 1970’s and came across the coconut oil (for the skin) in a healthfood store. It seemed to do something positive for my nervous system when I ate it. This was before it became available as an organic and raw, extra-virgin coconut oil as found today. Was I ever thrilled to find the more wholesome version many years later.
  • AFA (Aphanizomenom flos-aqua) Blue Green Algae – I first came across this particular blue green algae back in the 1990’s when a network marketing company began distributing it. I was looking for a food that would provide more energy and it certainly did just that! Now there are many more versions of this wonderful superfood.

More Familiar Superfoods

  • Cacao Beans – which I learned about through the writings and audio tapes of David Wolfe. It took me a while to get the fact that the chocolate that I ate as a child was different from raw chocolate made from the raw cacao beans. Now raw chocolate treats are a very pleasant part of my daily nutrition program.
  • Maca Root – again, this one I owe to David Wolfe. I don’t eat much of it but it definitely helps to balance hormones of the body.
  • Spirulina – I found this one back in the 1980’s. It’s been around for a long time. I first tried to use it as a protein replacement but that just didn’t work for me. I get a lot of value from it now by mixing a quarter teaspoon a day in my breakfast drink. I mainly use it for the array of vitamins and minerals not found in other foods. Spirulina is definitely very stabilizing.

So… I hope this helps you to sort through any confusion you’ve run into about superfoods. They really are in a “class” of their own. Evaluate them for yourself and see if you agree.

David Wolfe on How to Get Started on Superfoods

Lenette Nakauchi Interviews David Wolfe

Lenette: How do you see this book impacting the planet, the countries that it’s going to be first available to?

David: I think it’s going to have a huge impact for Elements of Life, personally. Everybody is on the same page, in my opinion, especially in the western world, North America, Canada, the U.S. about where the future of nutrition is. What everyone is arriving at is that people want more of their nutrition from food, meaning their vitamins and minerals and protein, antioxidants, etc. They want it easier. They want it to be as easy as possible. Superfoods answer that question. It solves that completely. As soon as people get clicked on to it, they realize, “Whoa. This solves a bunch of problems,” then it’s like an avalanche. That’s what I’ve been working on with Random House, who’s going to be helping me distribute this book; developing a strategy where we can kind of go out there and inform people like, “Hey, this is solving a big problem for everybody.” If you don’t have to depend on vitamin and mineral supplements and be worried about getting enough in our food, you eat superfoods and that’s covered completely. You don’t have to worry about it anymore. And it really is. That’s really the truth.

Lenette: Back to the superfoods, how do you suggest people new to superfoods get started?

David: I think it’s best to use a form of food that we’ve all been aware of, which is the superfoods smoothie, or the super protein shake or the Slim-Fast ‘throw it in a blender’ kind of idea. That’s the easiest way I’ve found for most people to tap into this. We’ve all had some experience with that. All we did is we just took the junk protein, the whey protein, egg white protein, whatever that was, just get rid of that and throw superfoods in instead. We have a blender, we have some spring water, we have our favorite fruits, let’s say right now it’s berries, frozen blueberries or whatever kind of fruit you like. You throw in your superfoods in there. I’m a beekeeper so I have honey at my house, and we throw in honey. You blend that up and you go running out the door and it’s like it’s a whole new reality. Actually what that does to people, doing a superfoods smoothie every morning instead of their traditional protein shake, it changes their whole reality around. Suddenly all their neurotransmitters start firing properly. They’re actually getting real protein for the first time in their life. They’re getting tryptophan for the first time in their life. They’re actually getting a good quality and spectrum of real minerals that are 100% bioavailable. That’s never happened in our lives. We grew up on like Froot Loops so when we actually get real nutrition, especially when it’s liquified like that, it has the fastest effect on people’s health of anything I’ve ever seen. That’s why I’m such a fan of superfoods. That’s why I’m putting my whole thing behind that. I’ve seen that it works in sorting out people’s neurochemistry better than anything else.

Lenette: Some people say, “How do I know what’s going to work for me if I start taking a bunch of these things at once?” But you’re saying, “Just go for the gold. Just try it all out.” [David laughing] Put it in a smoothie and you’ll feel better.

David: I remember one time I was hanging around with Shazzy. She’s very popular in the U.K. as a superfoodist; she and I wrote “Naked Chocolate” together. I remember we were having this hilarious moment together where we made up this superfood smoothie, and this was like six years ago. That was a long time ago, before it was like…I was kind of in my own reality with it, but I didn’t realize that people weren’t using this stuff. I made up this superfood smoothie; it must have had 50 ingredients in it. [both laughing] I’m tapping my foot, I’m drinking this drink, and I said, “Could you imagine if we just fed this to somebody on the street? It would probably knock them right out.” And BOOM, there was Shazzy knocked right out on her back.

Lenette: No way.

David: She literally drank half a cup of it and had to lay down. It just laid her right down. The reason why, it was just too much. I just kind of threw her right into the middle of the Super Bowl and it was too much. You’ve got to start out simple. Take Spirulina. Try that.

Lenette: Was that like a detox reaction she was having? Or just overstimulation from all these minerals and things?

David: It was probably both because when you put that level of nutrition…it was like herbs…I remember putting Cat’s Claw powder in there and Camu Camu berry. I’m not kidding, there were probably 50 ingredients in there. When you get to that level of concentration, you have to work up to it, just like anything else. You don’t just suddenly switch from Cheetos and Burger King over to 50 different things in a superfood smoothie. Even as a raw foodist, you go slowly. Everything’s very slow. It’s better that way. You try an experiment. You try bee pollen. You try Goji berries. You just eat it or you throw one ingredient in your drink and gradually you complexify it as you build that muscle. Basically what we’re doing is we’re building up a different muscle, a new digestive muscle. Most of our lives we spend a huge amount of digestive energy digesting nothing. There’s nothing in there. Now we can flip the equation around where we spend hardly any amount of digestive energy and we get a huge amount of nutrients. We’ve got to adapt to that. It doesn’t just happen overnight. You readapt your body to new, higher quality, higher octave types of foods and your body will take its little time. Over a few months it will gradually come along for the ride and that’s more reasonable. This step-by-step approach is much healthier.

Lenette: Can any of the superfoods in the upcoming book cause a detox reaction when you first start using them? And how important are superfoods in a detox program?

David: That’s a very good question. Generally the way I answer that question is to say, “What is a detoxification?” A detoxification occurs when the energy content of what’s coming into the body is at a higher level than where the body’s natural homeostasis is, or residual homeostasis. When you start taking superfoods that are high energy into a body that was eating, say, Burger King, there’s an energetic and vibrational discrepancy. Eventually what happens is one of those higher frequencies is going to entrain the lower frequency vibrations. It’s going to bring the lower energy up and drive it out. And that is going to occur in a lot of people just from eating any of the superfoods because the power of these foods is so high. If you’re a little bit more sophisticated with your approach and you’ve done cleansing and juice fasting and done herbal cleansing and that kind of thing, then you start targeting specific superfoods, like Chlorella, that get heavy metals out. Then you can start looking at Camu Camu berry for its medicinal content and medicinal capability of breaking down neurological blockages. For example, cataracts in the eye, glaucoma, foggy thinking, that kind of stuff. Then you could start to dial in a little bit deeper. Bee pollen, for example is a tremendous…it drives out all the gunk in our nervous system due to the acetylcholine that’s present in bee pollen and in royal jelly. What does that do? We’ve all had genetically modified soy lecithin that somehow snuck itself into our body and that just gums up our brain. You need acetylcholine from bee pollen and royal jelly to help drive that out. It’s called chelation replacement. Kelp is another one. Kelp can detoxify the thyroid. That’s another great superfood, one of the superfoods of the sea.

Lenette: Where are you telling people is the best place to get these superfoods? There are low quality superfoods out there and there are the best ever superfoods out there. How did you address that in the book?

David: What I did was, I went through, and there was a whole section on each superfood about what to look for. It’s really good. It’s designed for anybody to suddenly have the skill to say, “Here’s what I’m looking for. I’ve got to make sure I have cacao nibs that don’t have little white splotches on them. If I buy cacao with the skin on, it shouldn’t have any black mold on the outside.” Just little things like that. With each superfood, you become an expert on what to buy and how to determine what’s high quality and what’s low quality.

Lenette: That’s great, I’m really glad you put that in there. I’m curious to read that myself.
