News from the Superfoods Front

Skin Cancer – One Year Later

Healthy Foods - SuperfoodsIt’s been a while since I found the time to write about myself and how I’m doing with superfoods and healthy living. I’m a successful webmaster and internet marketer and it comes with the territory that we alway have the least time to work on our own sites. I first started this blog about superfoods and information that I feel, everybody needs and is entitled to have, one year ago and I’m walking the walk since then. I don’t know if you realized, but we are living in the most fantastic time ever! Never before, in history of mankind, we had the possibility to get the worlds best superfoods delivered to our doorsteps. Neither our parents nor any of our ancestors could go the local health store and just get the world’s best food supplements for a more or less affordable price. No generation before us had ever the chance to simply order all superfoods and food supplements online! As I said, we’re living in an incredible time! We can have it all today; and who dares to say that we can’t get 150 years old if we only eat the best superfoods? Now it’s all in our hands what we do with this unique chance. All the information about superfoods is available on the internet today and so nobody can say: “I didn’t know… nobody told me..”

Who is interested in Superfoods?

Goji Berries BranchBut you know what; I found that only a fraction of the people who could actually afford to live healthy, really do live healthy! What amazes me most after talking with hundreds of people about superfoods, healthy living and longevity, is that most of them don’t seem to care much and love their burgers and french fries! Some people though, had wide open ears and adapted my raw food diet which consists mainly of delicious,  fresh organic salads made of all kinds of vegetables, organic eggs (only organic eggs or none at all), Spirulina, fresh carrot and apple juice and sometimes fresh fish.  I am not a vegan nor a strict vegetarian, I don’t eat meat and I wouldn’t even get near a chicken anymore today! If you feel you need to eat chicken, watch the movie “Food Inc”, I promise, chicken will never the the same. Many people also tell me that they don’t want to get old, being afraid of becoming helpless and dependent. but that’s not what happens; if you live healthy you will get old and vital and you will be in charge of your life. But I’m not giving in! With many people who have changed their diet after talking with me and seeing (and often tasting) how I live, I’m still in contact today and I get amazing feedback!

What is the perfect diet?

Fresh Organic WheatgrassThere is no such thing as a perfect diet, I’m afraid. A diet is individual for each person but don’t worry, you have your body as your best friend! Your body will soon tell you what the ideal diet for you is. Follow your nose and your instincts. If something doesn’t taste good when you try it the first time, give it a couple of more chances, our body is a world champion in adjusting. Things I never liked to eat taste fantastic today! I even like Spirulina. I suggest that  you try to eat raw food, if possible organic or as much organic as you can get or afford, for one month and watch your weight carefully. Raw food also contains sugar and sometimes a lot of sugar. Sweet fruits and even superfoods like amalaki / gooseberry, bananas and pineapple, but also carrots and cucumbers contain large amounts of sugars. While  these sugars are of the ‘good kind’ of sugars, not like the white sugar from the supermarket, they will still produce fat in your body. Here is where exercising kicks in! A good diet doesn’t consist of healthy food only. Other factors for a balanced health and longevity, are exercise and meditation. If your body is fit, your digesting system will work perfect and keep everything in balance. After one month you should already be able to see significant results! Your skin will look healthier, you will feel fit the whole day long and will not get tired in the afternoon anymore. You will probably find that you have been very productive in whatever it is you’re doing. After four to eight weeks on an organic superfoods diet your weight will also have leveled, and even if you loose weight in the beginning, your body will automatically find it’s ideal weight after some time.

My List of Superfoods

Finally I want to give you a list of the healthy foods and superfoods that made my meals interesting, tasty and absolutely healthy during the past year! I also want to add that my cancer has gone, I’m obviously still sticking around, and that I won’t give it a chance to come back! For me it was the yellow card in the world championship finals and we all know what a second yellow card means! Therefore I will keep up my healthy and very tasty diet, keep on doing sports like bicycling, swimming, weight lifting and running several times a week and live at least  another seventy years! It’s all about the right nutrition, antioxidants and being fit and therefore everything is possible and no one before us had the chance to try…

Superfoods For Health

What are Superfoods? Superfoods are whole foods. Whole foods are foods that are unprocessed or are only minimally processed in a way that none or little of the nutrition has been altered or destroyed. Canned foods for example, are processed foods. Cooked foods are also processed foods and therefore less healthy than raw foods.

Superfoods are not necessarily some exotic fruits. Apples have been proven to be potent weapons against cancer, heart disease, asthma, and type 2 diabetes but other fruits and vegetables have some remarkable health benefits as well. Or strawberries and raspberries for instance; they contain a compound called ellagic acid, one of the best cancer fighters nature ever created. When you’re eating these fruits the ellagic acid enters the bloodstream and will help to destroy cancer cells on contact.

Other “Superfoods” which can improve your health, boost your immune system to a healthy level and take care of anti aging are:

  • Beans such as pinto beans, black beans and lentils are another series of foods to lower cholesterol, combat heart disease, stabilize blood sugar, reduce obesity, relieve constipation and lessen the risk of cancer.
  • Blueberries are a small but mighty nutritional force. They combine more powerful antioxidants than any other fruit or vegetables. Although they have many health benefits, the one thing they are known for most is the ability to lower your risk of cardiovascular disease.
  • Broccoli is a great cancer fighter and very beneficial in many other ways as well.
  • Avocados are believed to help lower cholesterol and they are rich in magnesium (an essential nutrient for healthy bones)
  • Dark chocolate may come as a real surprise to most, as being one of the healthiest foods on the planet. It’s a source of phytonutrients which act as an antioxidant that helps protect our DNA and inhibits the growth of unwanted blood vessels. Make sure you buy the right kind of dark chocolate, one that isn’t as processed and has a high cacao content. Raw cacao beans or nibs are even better since the chocolate needs to be heated up.
  • Garlic and onions are great cancer fighting foods
  • Honey is beneficial in maintaining optimal blood-sugar levels. Honey should be consumed as is, fresh from the spoon. adding honey to your tea will destroy most of it’s benefits.
  • Kiwi is an antioxidant all-star. It offers an unusual array of health-promoting substances. One very important thing it does is it promotes heart health by helping to lower triglycerides levels and reducing platelet hyperactivity.

Other superfoods that display great health promoting properties are – oranges, pomegranates, pumpkins, wild salmon, soy, spinach, tea, tomatoes, turkey (skinless breast), walnuts, and low-fat or nonfat yogurt.

I’m not a doctor or nutrition authority, I have become very well-informed about nutrition and healthy eating habits in the last nine years. My Mother died of cancer at age 68, she never got to see her grandson. I made the decision I would feed my family real food as often as possible. We aren’t perfect so I can’t say I’m a total health nut, but I do the best I can.

Today, I’m cautious about the food we eat. I do a lot of research on the Internet, subscribe to several newsletters about alternative health issues.

I suggest that you educate yourself and your family about your health. If your doctor practices conventional medicine and is prescribing prescription drugs, scrutinize his decisions. Have a serious talk with him about nutrition and preventative care. If you don’t get the answers you want, get a second opinion, preferably from a naturopathic doctor. No one said it would be easy, I know that and while we do try to eat right, we are not prefect and our food today is far from being perfect so we will have to take some daily food supplements like vitamin C or Omega3 rich fish oil pills.

Benefits of Eating Superfoods

Superfoods are various types of foods that are good for your body. Whether you are an avid athlete or are someone who is simply trying to eat better, consuming food that is healthy for you will benefit you overall. Examples of these foods include things such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Studies have shown that eating a variety of raw fruits and vegetables can help prevent certain diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. However, it should be noted that you cannot simply eat superfoods by themselves. Rather, a diet that consists of both healthy eating as well as plenty of exercise and rest are ideal for a long, healthy life.

To go about eating superfoods, you should first begin by considering your current diet. What sorts of foods are you eating now? Does your diet consist of mostly carbohydrates in the form of rice, pasta and breads? On an average day, how many servings of vegetables are you consuming? For instance, you should be getting at least five to ten servings of fruits and vegetables a day. To give you an idea of what this would look like, one orange is equal to one serving of fruit. In order to make things a little bit easier so that we could get all of our fruit and vegetable servings, my boyfriend and I invested a very small amount of money into purchasing a juicer. The juicer has been a godsend in terms of making eating healthier both easy and fun.

For ideas on juicing recipes, simply look some up online or come up with your own. My personal favorite includes a juice recipe of four to five organic carrots, a small serving of fresh ginger, kale leaves and three apples. In this one juice, I am already getting over half of my daily intake of fruits and veggies, and it didn’t cost me that much or take that much time to do! For many people, juicing makes eating their vegetables and fruits more palatable. However, for some of us, we prefer to eat our fruits and veggies raw. For example, veggies and fruits make great snacks for in between meals- plus they are super healthy! Some examples include things such as grape tomatoes, baby carrots, blueberries, a few apple slices or even a few cuts of celery. Even something as small as an orange makes a great snack that is both incredibly filling as well as nutritious.

One of the benefits to eating fruits and vegetable is that they fill you up. Because these foods are nutrient rich and often dense in fiber, you often feel full after just a little snack. As we all know, fiber is great for digestion as well as improving your overall weight. If you are looking to improve your diet or if you are trying to lose weight in a healthy way, try to make sure that the ratio of raw fruits and vegetables is higher than the ratio of processed foods, starches and grains that you consume. Combine this with sufficient sleep and a little exercise, and you’ll be on your way to a more healthful you.

Healty Foods and Superfoods – How Good Are They Really?

How Important are Healthy Foods?

Superfoods and Healthy Foods?Today these questions are easy to answer for me: Very good and very important! The few healthy foods we are still able to gather these days, play a major role for our overall health. And I'm not talking about superfoods only here; I'm talking about organic vegetables, leafy greens that haven't been sprayed with all kinds of toxins and have been feed with artificial fertilizers that consist only of the very basic nutrients. Organic carrots; when have You seen the last one? Organic eggs, if you're not a vegan, are very healthy food. The y consist out of almost pure protein! Organic spinach is very high on antioxidants and not only Popeye should be eating it. Spinach has also a lot of Lutein which can prevent blindness and muscular degeneration. The point is that no matter what you want to eat, you should try to get it organic! Even if you're still eating meat after all the bad news about what's in it; you can get organically grown meat and poultry without antibiotics for a slightly higher price.

Despite the little price difference and the bit more running around to find the right foods, you'll feel so much better after eating organic foods for a few month, you wouldn't believe it! Try it out and you will thank me forever! I'm doing this now since six month only, and I've seen changes happening on my body that are just sheer miracles. Besides that my skin cancer has vanished, and I hope forever, I have lost almost all my age warts and one big black mole in my face. the simply started to vanish over time. But this not all by a long shot!  My eyesight has gotten much better even though I'm still working on the computer for most of the day. It might be that one liter fresh carrot juice every day plays a big role in that. Overall; I'm feeling as good as when I was eighteen!

Eat lots of Healthy Foods and Superfoods

I'm eating the ideal dosage of about 30 gram of Goji berries every day, some goose berries in between and if I get hungry in the afternoon, I make a shake consisting of fresh coconut, a handful raw cacao nobs and a banana, that's pure energy! In the evening I'm on for a fresh salad, full of organic vegetables, holy basil, ginger, parsley and oregano. Other things that are regularly in my salads are cumin, thyme, red onions, cashew nuts, turmeric, fresh dill and whatever I can get fresh in the organic shop. In the end of the month I'm not more broke than when I was shopping in the supermarket without turning my brain on. Really, it doesn't make a difference at all! In the beginning that came to me a s a surprise but after a while I just found out that with the shift of priorities my financial situation hadn't changed much after six month, but my health had changed a lot!

So how important are healthy foods and superfoods? For me they have made all the difference they could make. After life had shown me the yellow card at the beginning of the year for being such a careless fool with my body, I've learned that the right nutrition might cost you a bit more money and quite a bit more time for food hunting and preparation, but the result is always worth the while. I'm far more active today than I was during the past five years and I'm also far more productive and far more successful with what I'm doing. I can truly recommend superfoods and organic foods to anybody who is willing to change their lifestyle. Once you find out for yourself what this does to your body and to your mind, you will never regret it!

Are You Eating The Right Foods?

We are Eating the wrong Foods!

Cheeseburger Unhealthy Food Kills UsAbout a half million people die from food containing 'toxic' nutrients every year. More than 100 million Americans are still at risk and it cost the nation over $100 billion dollars a year. And yet on a daily basis no one seems to butt an eyelid, despite it still being a serious major problem – an epidemic in fact. Obesity, and of the self inflicted causes of disease it is second only to smoking. Left to current trends it is soon to take the number one slot. And yet, if the same magnitude and loss of life was attributed to Mad Cows Disease in our food chain, there would be a public outcry.

I mean, how can we have more than 100 million web pages of information about superfoods, nutrients, diet plans, pills and potions on the Internet and yet be in the middle of an obesity crisis? The only conclusion I can think of is that diets don't work. And yet people are still paying for it in one of 2 ways; with their money or with their health. Diet companies are quite happy to take a dieter's money but are dependent on a dieter's failure for their very own survival. Some even say diets are designed to fail. And now, there is insurmountable evidence that many appalling diseases are related to inappropriate nutrition and obesity, and yet 60% of Americans take little notice of it.

Why? It is because the act of eating presents no emotion of fear or threat to life and we are in fact genetically programmed to simple eat! We are biological 'eating machines'. So who is responsible? The food manufacturers, the government or us – the individual. In simple terms we all have choices as to what we decide to put inside our own body in the form of food, and therefore the ultimate responsibly lies with the individual in respect to their chosen diet. Obesity is having a massive impact on the western world at large with all the causes well documented but little in terms of real, solid and lasting solutions.

As a research specialists, we have severe concerns regarding the current obesity trends and have developed methodologies the help combat the problem for individuals based on 'our' nutritional inheritance. We have been on this planet for more than two million years and for 99.5% of this time as hunter and gatherer, consuming a diet of predominantly consisting of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables and with plenty of water as the main source of liquid refreshment.

Our nutritional inheritance was and is still is well defined, and perhaps has less tolerance to variation than originally thought. You cannot so drastically change the human diet as we have today and not expect a reaction from Mother Nature herself. It is, and it always will be the survival of the healthiest and the fittest. And the fittest are those who can adapt to their environment. We also have to face the facts of the three key revolutions we have encountered during the past century – the Agricultural, the Industrial and Technological revolution, which all have significantly contributed to our demise. We no longer work for our food and we are far from being scared about not having anything to eat. Today we work less and therefore need less, but as a people we are eating more than necessary .

If we want to solve this problem. we must go back to the basics and change our nutrition towards a diet that is aligned to the nutritional needs and expectation of our body derived over millions of years of evolution. We need to take action to be able to change to a nutrition and a lifestyle that our body was originally designed for. This can be the only natural solution for a good diet and healthy foods except you want to wait until we are able to engineer nutritional genes to control appetite, and who knows what else… or we accept a lifetime of consuming superfoods to achieve the same aim.

These natural concepts have been detailed in many publications about Superfoods, allowing everyone to review their attitude and thought process about their own diet and nutrition to that of their inheritance. Everybody is responsible by themselves for what they eat and how healthy they want to live. Health Should Come Easy For Today’s Children

The Health of our Children must be our First Concern

Children and HealthIn the past twenty years a lot has changed in the world of everyday foods. Not long ago, families woke up to a breakfast of orange juice made from a frozen concentrate, white toast with butter and jelly, scrambled whole eggs with bacon or sausage and a side of sugary cereal with low fat cow’s milk. This was the norm back then and slowly the norm seems to be changing. Today, it is much easier to give kids healthy super food options considering the plentiful amounts of new exotic super foods on the market- packaged and available for your everyday convenience.

Today, it is easy to wake up to a breakfast of Acai Berries or fresh squeezed orange or tangerine juice, or a freshly blended smoothie. The white toast and butter could easily be substituted with whole wheat, oatmeal or spelt bread-a drizzle of honey or real fruit jam on the side. The scrambled eggs and bacon can be substituted with scrambled egg whites or tofu scramble. The bacon replaced by one of the many available soy protein ‘bacon’ and ‘sausage’ options available in your grocers freezer. Sugary cereal can be replaced with whole grain cereals free of artificial colors, flavors and sweeteners, yet still packaged to appeal to the scrutinizing eyes of children. Cow’s milk, which is high in saturated fat and hormones, can easily be replaced with soy, rice or even almond milk, all much healthier alternatives.

SNACKS: Goodbye Ring Ding’s and Ho Ho’s, hello Snackimals and Uncle Eddie’s

The snack world has always been a deal breaker for kids and healthy eating. Kids and candy go hand in hand and a childhood without treats would feel quite dull and deprived. But the definition of a treat is what is drastically changing in recent years. Back in the nineties, I recall seeing kids and teenagers toting treats for school snacks such as Hostess Donuts, Twinkies, Doritos, Fruit Snacks with gooey-green-sour-slime centers, and even bagels smothered in whole fat cream cheese. All of these choices are either high in sugar and/or high in saturated or trans fat. Not good. Today, the healthy snack marketplace is booming with healthy options for kids. There are cookies called Snackimals, high in flavor and fun yet low in fat and completely vegan. Healthy yet tasty granola bars and chips like Pirates Booty are also available and enjoyed as new age treats of today.

SUPERFOODS: Who needs vitamin pills when you have Vitamuffins, acai juice and soy.

Super foods are a hot trend. Super foods are foods that not only taste good, but offer some sort of healthy benefit or healing property. A few trendy super food qualities are omega fats, fiber, antioxidants, soy protein and phytochemicals. Companies like Navitas Naturals bring exotic super foods like goji berries into mainstream markets. Parents of kids today probably didn’t have such plentiful options for purchasing super foods. They would’ve had to venture into an advanced Health Food store to find such delicacies as almond butter, acai berry juice, kombucha tea and coconut water. But today it is easy! Parents can easily put super foods into the forefront of kids diets. There should be absolutely no excuse for unhealthy children who grow into unhealthy adults. If kids embrace this new world healthy norm, I’d predict that rates of heart disease and cancer will plummet. However, the marketing and finance departments have got to step in.

Marketing healthy foods to kids is tough especially when you have to compete against companies like Pepsi Cola, McDonalds and Hershey’s. These companies market mainly to kids and teens, cheap costing, low nutrition foods. However there are a number of companies that are trying to step in where health food marketing agents have failed. Websites introduce children to fruits and veggies at a young age by creating fun characters and selling gift and apparel items. Kids can learn about and fall in love with a favorite fruit or vegetable from a very young age. Click the link below to see my top ten superfoods list.

10 Superfoods You Need to Know About

Green Leafy Vegetables are Superfoods

There is an old saying that you are what you eat. If you eat foods that are good for you, you are naturally going to be healthier as an individual. That is why many people are now turning to superfoods and making sure that they get plenty of these in their diet regularly. Here are 10 superfoods that you not only need to know about, but you need to eat them regularly.

Blueberries – These small berries are really a gem, and not only can they provide you with a lot of antioxidants, they are also essential for prostate health. Make sure that you include these in your daily diet, either eating them with breakfast or mixing them into a smoothie.

Green Leafy Vegetables – Although not typically included in the list of 10 superfoods, you really can't beat the health benefits of including plenty of greens in your diet. Although it is possible for you to get your greens through eating salad, I prefer to make a green smoothie everyday which helps the body to assimilate it very quickly.

Cocoa Nibs – Everybody knows about the benefits of dark chocolate but I'm going to take it a step further than that. Cocoa nibs are the essence of dark chocolate, without anything bad included. They are one of the highest foods in antioxidants and you should make sure that you are eating a couple of tablespoons every day of this natural wonder.

Chia Seeds – Most people know about these from the cheesy late-night infomercials but they don't realize exactly what they are missing if they are not including them in their diet. These are so good for you that they were once worshipped by the ancient Aztecs. They contain healthy fats and enough fiber to keep you going throughout the day.

Kiwi – You should make sure that you are eating this fruit every single day. It is an excellent source of vitamin A. and E, along with giving you a lot of antioxidants. Not only that, it's delicious and it has a place on the list of 10 superfoods.

Quinoa – If there is something that could be considered a perfect food, this is it. It has much of the proteins that you're going to need to keep your body healthy and it is considered by the World Health Organization to be the perfect food for developing countries.

Salmon – Make sure that you include a little bit of fish in your diet on a weekly basis, but don't get the farm raised fish. If you are able to afford natural salmon, you will provide your body with much of what it needs in the form of essential fatty acids.

Legumes – As it turns out, beans really are good for your heart. They contain a lot of fiber and are low glycemic, helping you to keep the weight off while giving you enough calories to maintain a healthy diet.

Other Berries – If you are able to afford it, include plenty of berries in your daily diet. I like to have a berry smoothie in the morning, getting my day started with an antioxidant punch that really keeps me going.

Green Powers – One more thing that you can include in your diet are green powders. These help to round out your diet with super foods and can make it easy for you to get a healthy dose every day.

Hopefully you've picked up a few tips here on eating superfoods – including these into your diet will reward you greatly and combined with exercise will further help you to lose belly and body fat.

What Are Superfoods?

Fresh strawberries

We’re all searching for the ultimate eating plan. And the latest one promising high-quality health, shining eyes and glowing skin is the Superfoods diet. It works on the premise that there are 14 super foods that can help you live a longer and healthier life, slow the ageing process and help prevent cancer and diabetes. Great – where do we sign up?

It all started when a book called Superfoods: Fourteen Foods That Will Change Your Life (Random House) was published in the US, fast becoming the latest grazing craze. And, unlike many faddish eating plans, the Superfoods diet is based on proven scientific evidence – even though it does mean dramatically changing the contents of your shopping basket.

Superfoods are a group of wholesome foods that pack a nutritious punch. In addition, they contain an exceptionally high nutrient content when compared to the amount of calories per serving. Wild Oats staff has researched the superfoods most recommended by dietary experts and has highlighted the following food groups in its stores: berries, citrus, cruciferous vegetables, eggs, green foods, green leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts, oats, olives and olive oil, fish rich in Omega-3fatty acids, orange vegetables, sea vegetables, seeds, soy, tea, tomatoes, turkey, whole grains and yogurt and kefir.

Medical professionals say that superfoods may help people feel more energetic, provide protection against disease, and promote a healthy lifestyle now and for the future. The antioxidants found in these products are a class of vitamins, minerals and enzymes that may help eliminate chemically active oxygen molecules thought to contribute to aging and chronic ailments such as cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

So, what can you eat? The Superfoods diet dictates that you need to eat the following every day – at least one or two cups of blueberries, half-a-cup each of broccoli and pumpkin, five to seven servings of oats, one of tomatoes, one orange, at least half an ounce of soy, one cup of steamed spinach or two cups of raw, one cup of tea and two cups of yoghurt. Every week, followers must also have four servings of beans, two to four of wild salmon, three or four of turkey and five ounces of walnuts.

So is it too good to be true? Well, not necessarily. Meredith Kennedy, a dietitian for Nutrition Australia says that all of the components of the Superfoods diet are nutrient-dense foods which are fantastically good for you – just don’t be put off by the rigidity of the plan. “We’d recommend all of these foods as healthy choices,” she says.

But don’t fret if you can’t stand broccoli, or if oranges turn you off. “You can substitute cabbage, bok choy, cauliflower or cabbage for broccoli,” says Kennedy. “And grapefruit, limes or lemons will give you similar nutrients to oranges.” The most important part to remember is to consume a wide variety of fruit and vegetables in your diet if you want to make sure you really are eating a super diet.

Superfood Nutrition 101!

What is a superfood? I often get this question whenever I mention that my diet consists primarily of organic foods and in particular organic superfoods. Superfoods are foods which are extremely nutrient dense and give you the biggest bang for your buck compared to other foods. They contain amazing medicinal like properties in that they have been used in different cultures for thousands of years for healing, for endurance, for vibrant health, and for their so called anti-aging characteristics.

They usually are high in antioxidants and minerals as well as enzyme rich. There are different levels of superfoods. In fact some superfoods are very well known and most people do not realize they are eating what has been “labeled” as a superfood. By labeled, I mean they are sometimes marketed as superfoods because there tends to be some evidence the foods are a healthier alternative and perhaps this is true, but in fact a true superfood will be at its healthiest state when it is in raw, uncooked form. Foods often marketed as superfoods include foods such as Garlic, broccoli, kale, tomatoes, papaya, Spinach, Parsley, Oats, Turkey, Eggs, Walnuts, Pumpkin, Almonds, Figs, Chili Peppers, Cayenne pepper, Pomegranate, Blueberries, raspberries, and Wild salmon. Some of these are in fact extremely healthy foods. Many of us have heard of these foods and have eaten them time and time again. It is certainly better to get the organic or wild variety of these foods in that they are even more “super” without the added chemicals and preservatives.

Some other superfoods are not as well known. These are the foods which can get you to the next level of Xtreme Health(TM). I have spent the last year researching some of these superfoods which I consider to be some of the best foods in the world and have used them in my daily diet with tremendous success. These superfoods which I am about to talk about are absolutely amazing and have helped cultures for thousands of years avoid famine and disease. Kings and queens would go to war to get more of these superfoods. For instance, it has been said that Alexander the great was persuaded by Aristotle to invade Egypt for the Aloe Vera plant so he could use it on his injured soldiers. Back then we didn’t have clinical studies to tell us what was good and bad for us. They used foods to treat people and they either worked or didn’t work. This process over 1000’s of years brought the greatest of superfoods and herbs to the forefront of visibility by the leaders of great countries.

The following are some of the greatest superfoods I have learned about over the last year and for which are available on the internet as well as local health food stores. Hemp Seeds and Hemp Protein, Bee Pollen, Wild Honey, Maca powder, Spirulina, Blue Green Algae, Chlorella, Sprouts, Wheat grass, Barley Grass, Dulse, Kelp, Goji Berries, Cacao beans, Organic MSM, Avocado’s, Coconut and coconut oil, Acai berries, Mangosteen, Agave Nectar, Royal Jelly, Flax seeds, and Green Tea.

Spirulina in particular is a food which fed mexico city for thousands of years. It is the highest source of protein on the planet (62% protein). It is great mixed with just plain spring water. Goji berries are another complete protein source. They are high in antioxidants, iron and vitamin C and contain 21 trace minerals and many other nutrients. They are small light and portable. I usually eat just one handful of goji berries before a cross country flight and do not have to eat anything the entire flight. Cacao beans are the actual raw chocolate bean which most people have never eaten. Most are familiar with the processed version of cacao called cocoa or chocolate which is mostly sugar and dairy mixed together with the cacao bean.

Most of these superfoods can be obtained in powdered form and added to your favorite super smoothie in the morning. You will get just about every vitamin, mineral, amino acid, good fat (Omega 3, 6 and 9) and hundreds of other phytonutrients by eating these foods. Every longevity and anti-aging diet should not be without these superfoods.
